RV volunteers can do much more than be a camphost. Take this new home study course and find out the many possibilities. Here's the press release from Workamper University:
Workamper News and Workamper University are excited to offer another home study course on CD from Workamping expert Jaimie Hall-Bruzenak with RVLifestyleExperts.com. This new course is called RV Volunteers Make a Difference, and will spell out why RVers volunteer and what they gain from it.
Have you thought about volunteering on the road? An AARP study found that helping out others in some form or other is something 80 percent of Americans age 45 and older do. They are an important force in our economy, volunteering 8.2 billion hours a year, which is worth more than $147 billion. RVing broadens the horizons and opens up many new possibilities. In addition to volunteering in communities, RVers volunteer at national parks, state parks, wildlife refuges, and for Habitat for Humanity, among others. They help out during natural disasters. If you thought of volunteering as being a camphost, you were right—AND, it can be much more than that.
Volunteering has many rewards and can have a positive impact on the budget too. The 60-minute course shows you where to find these opportunities and how to go about getting them. Even more important, it helps you ask essential questions before accepting a position. This CD is available in the Workamper News Store online for $29.95. Visit the Workamper News Store for more information and to purchase.
Instructor Jaimie Hall-Bruzenak is a seasoned RV Workamper and volunteer and the author of Support Your RV Lifestyle! An Insider’s Guide to Working on the Road and other RV books. Along with the audio visual classes you will receive a PDF file with a complete list of resources to get you started finding the right volunteer position for you.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics calculates the national value per volunteer hour is $19.51. Federal and state parks have discovered the value of RV volunteers. RV volunteers are in high demand at these parks. We hope in the future large cities will take the necessary steps to attract volunteer camp hosts eager to volunteer their services and at the same time experience travel to the large cities. It is our hope cities will also recognize how RV volunteers could provide much needed services for their citizens.
To accomplish this symbiotic relationship forward looking cities must first build designated RV volunteer sites in strategically placed locations throughout the cities. The sites could be placed near museums, zoos, libraries, parks, hospitals, government buildings, airports, lakes, bike paths, stadiums or other areas able to utilize volunteers. These RV sites would then be exchanged for volunteer services. The relatively low cost to construct the RV sites ($10,000 to $15,000 per campsite) would be offset by the increase in a diverse and experienced workforce. The work history of RV volunteers is broad, ranging from academia to the trades.
It is our firm belief that cities willing and able to provide the RV sites in exchange for an expanded quality workforce will find, just as state and national parks have found, exchanging RV sites for volunteer hours, is a most beneficial arrangement.

Great idea. A few places have caught on and do this but it isn't common.
