My friend Stephanie sent me this link at MailOnline about a crash in Kansas on Interstate 35. An RV hit the guard rail and then went into a ravine. There were 18 people on board. Plus the motorhome was pulling a trailer. See the article for what's left of the RV. It's a wonder anyone survived.
In the article the police speculated that some people in the living area may not have been wearing seat belts. If there were 18 people in the motorhome, I guarantee most did not have a seat belt on. There aren't 18 seat belts in any rig. They don't give the length of the motorhome or trailer, however it was a Freighliner so probably at least 35 feet long. That plus a trailer is a lot of rig to be driving. It had to be pretty sizable to even fit that many people. What were they thinking?
Such a tragedy, one that did not have to happen. Jaimie Hall Bruzenak

Tragic, though it may be, if you look closely you will see it is not a freightliner Motorhome as they show. It is clearly a front engine rig, possibly a homemade rig. No matter the end result is senseless loss of life and injury. Please everyone think before you get on the road!

More things came out since this was published. The driver was only 17 years old. He and the co-pilot were the only ones with seat belts on. Not a safe way to travel.

Oh no. My heart goes out to the victims of this tragedy. Everyone on the road should always be careful for the sake of everyone you are sharing the road with. I thought I'd share this site to the families of the victims as it helped me get through a similar predicament when I lost someone very dear to me.
