According to RV Daily Report, Norcold has expanded its recalls to allow service technicians to install a thermocouple instead of a thermal switch to its Model 1200 and Model 1210 refrigerators. They have found a better fix to lessen the danger of fire. Models already recalled and fixed will have a second recall to apply the thermocouple.
You should receive a recall in the mail, but you can check the list of models at the article. It's a pretty wide recall, affecting models produced between January 1, 2003 and October 6, 2010. The remedy will be free to the RV owner.
Because the termocouple will shut off the gas more quickly in the event of high temperatures, it will do a better job of preventing a fire. Check your model number and schedule a fix as soon as possible. Jaimie Hall Bruzenak
